Triptych Crazy!

I did three examples but could not decide on just one! so just keep scrolling down and you will find the instructions and pattern :)
The first example is on cardstock but the other two I added foam core board to create a shrine.

This is so easy and there is so much you can do with this pattern. The only limit is your imagination. I started with the “Alice in wonderland” card. It was a masking feat!…lol. Follow the directions below for lining up the two stamps with ease. If you use mounted stamps then you will have to use a stamp positioner or as I did for “Coffee, Tea OR”. I loved the contrast between the black and red cardstock so I stamped on red cut out and applied to the black. I used some creative cutting with the teapot, the paperdoll technique for her “towel” and filled the soy sauce package with micro beads. I chiseled out divots for the chopsticks so that the shrine would still close as I did with the hand on the “Diva” shrine. To get started, you will need to print your pattern. If you try to print the pattern from the web it will not print the right size. So you will need to save it to your computer. If you are running windows do this by right clicking on the picture of the pattern. A box will pop up with a list of options. Choose "save picture as". Now another box will pop up. Choose where you would like the picture to be saved. My documents is a good place. Once you have that done choose "save". Now go to your Start button, Programs, Accessories then Imaging. Once you have Imaging open, click on File and then Open. Look for where you stored the picture. You should be looking for shrine.jpg unless you have renamed it. Once opened and the image is on your screen just click on the Print icon. Print it on standard white computer paper. Then use a repositionable glue stick on the backside of the computer paper. Stick it to a scrap piece of paper to remove any excess glue. You would not want to get glue on your project and after it has been stuck once any glue that is going to come off will. If you plan to emboss, after the pattern is cut out and scored, wipe with a used dryer sheet. This will remove any glue that the eye can't see but embossing powder would stick to.

Use an acrylic block that is as close to the size of the column as you can find. Make sure your stamps are trimmed as close to the design as you can trim it. Be careful that you do not undercut the design. Start by drawing a line down the center of the block with a fine line permanent marker. Follow the line down the side of the block on both ends then connect the line on the other side as you see in Picture 1. Place your stamp on the block lining up the center of the column to the line you drew and with the bottom as close to the edge of the block as possible as you see in picture 2. Match the line you drew on your block to the score line and stamp the first two columns. If you are making a card then flip the cardstock over and stamp the other two columns on the opposite side. If you plan to use foam core board, repeat the steps you just finished on another sheet of cardstock then cut on the score lines dividing it into three sections. Cut the same pattern from the foam core board also cutting it into three section by cutting it on the score lines. score line.

Remove the column stamp from the block and place the "Roof" section on it with the bottom of the "Roof" as close to the edge as possible. With your fine line permanent marker, mark the block where the points of the roof end as you see in picture 4. Line the points up between the scored lines and stamp the center section. Stamp the two sides so that the center of the roof is at the edge of the card as you see in picture 5. This will be the inside of your card. Before you stamp the other side, fold the sides of the triptych to the center as you see in picture 6. and crease well.

Hold your card closed and stamp the roof section as you see in picture 7, flip the card over and stamp the center section. Now your ready to stamp as you wish. If you are doing the foam core shrine, stamp the front and back sections as you wish. Glue the foam core sections to the matching sections of the front piece of cardstock. Glue the three cut sections of cardstock to the matching sections on the back. Finish with 1/4 inch foil tape, ribbon or just cut strips of cardstock.
